Performing typical nursing duties, the Travel Nurse is responsible for administering medications, performing tests, and creating reports to inform physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Travel Nurse is crucial to alleviating gaps in patient care and providing needed relief to understaffed facilities. This position requires adaptability, clinical expertise, and a passion for quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Traveling to the patients' location to administer medication, vaccinations, and other medical services, including blood pressure, glucose monitoring, and other tests.
- Conduct wound inspections, change dressings, and monitor the patient's overall health/well-being.
- Offer healthcare and nutritional guidance and address any questions the patients' may have.
- Monitor patients' recovery creating reports for relevant physicians and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all medical supplies and related equipment are kept well-organized and sterile.
- Stay current on developing medical best practices and engage in continuous education.
- Partner with other healthcare professionals to create improved diets and healthcare plans.
- Create a positive patient experience with a professional, approachable demeanor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent
- Relevant license and certification
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Proven ability to follow instructions as well as think and work independently
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional report writing and organizational skills
- Personable and empathetic demeanor
