A business development manager is a customer service professional who works in a business development environment. A business development manager (BDM) is responsible for leading a team of business development representatives and for setting and achieving business development goals. 

They are responsible for creating and implementing business development strategies, managing the sales pipeline, and mentoring and developing team members.
