City Carrier Responsibilities

  1. Sort and organize mail and packages for delivery on designated route
  2. Load mail and packages into delivery vehicle and transport them to designated addresses
  3. Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses according to scheduled route
  4. Collect outgoing mail from postal collection boxes and ensure proper postage is attached
  5. Obtain signatures for registered mail and packages requiring proof of delivery
  6. Provide assistance and information to customers regarding postal services and regulations
  7. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
  8. Report any mail delivery issues or concerns to supervisor
  9. Adhere to all postal regulations and safety procedures while performing duties
  10. Assist with sorting and processing mail at local post office as needed

City Carrier Required Skills

  1. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  3. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks
  4. Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy packages
  5. Familiarity with city streets and addresses within designated delivery area
  6. Basic math skills for accurate tracking and recording of deliveries

  9. Proficiency in using handheld devices for tracking and recording deliveries

  4. Previous experience in mail delivery or customer service preferred
  5. Knowledge of local area and street layouts
  6. Ability to operate a delivery vehicle safely and efficiently
  7. Strong work ethic and punctuality
  8. Willingness to adhere to postal service regulations and safety procedures
  9. Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds (23kg)
  10. Good interpersonal skills and friendly demeanor
