Description

Operating room nurses, also known as perioperative nurses, ensure that operating rooms are ready with sterile surgical materials and equipment, and that surgery patients receive appropriate perioperative care. They are responsible for creating surgical care plans, instructing patients on post-operative care, and coordinating patient care with surgical teams.

Outstanding candidates for the position of operating room nurse will demonstrate substantial perioperative experience and have an in-depth understanding of sterile procedures when being interviewed. Candidates with poor stress management and poor communication skills should be avoided.
