Job brief
We are looking for a Band Manager to manage the business affairs and logistics of a music band. The candidate must be able to handle busy schedules, be willing to work long hours, and provide support to the band when it comes to career decisions in order to improve the band’s position in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective strategies to advance the bands' music and branding.
- Assist bands in landing records deal with major labels in the industry.
- Secure the services of well-known publicists, image stylists, and lawyers depending on bands' objectives.
- Provide advice to bands on sound decisions for career trajectory.
- Network on behalf of the band to build solid relations with key players and labels within the music industry.
- Contact necessary vendors to book studios for recording and practicing, and fix and order equipment.
- Ensure band members attend band practice sessions regularly.
- Ensure band members are conscious of their responsibilities and are on time for recording sessions, meet and greets, interviews, and live performances.
- Coordinate with the booking or touring agents to develop adequate tour schedules and other travel arrangements.
- Manage band financing with transparency and integrity, and dispense allowance to band members accordingly.
- Assist with scheduling studio time and practice sessions.
Requirements
- High school graduate
- A music-related degree in the industry would be a massive plus
- 4+ years of management experience
- Be able to multitask and handle stressful circumstances seamlessly
- Possess strong integrity
- Good negotiating, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
