Cable Technician job brief

We are searching for a skilled Cable Technician to perform installations, maintenance, and repair services for cable television and internet systems. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of cable systems for our clients. The successful candidate should possess technical skills and knowledge in the field of network maintenance and be capable of delivering quality, customer-focused services.

Cable Technician responsibilities

  • Install cabling systems, both outdoor and indoor, in compliance with industry standards.
  • Execute repairs and maintenance services to cable systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues and identify solutions for cable television and internet networks.
  • Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner, minimizing downtime of telecommunication services.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on all signaling and cable equipment, ensuring they meet performance standards.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of all technical documentation and work-order logs.
  • Exercise safety measures and promote safe, productive practices in the workplace.
  • Communicate with management and clients, answering questions and providing technical support related to cable and internet systems.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience working as a Cable Technician
  • Practical experience with cable TV and internet systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair processes
  • Strong technical skills in reading blueprints and schematics, identifying technical issues and resolving them, and operating specialized tools and equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise way to clients and colleagues
  • Physical ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, during various weather conditions
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask while maintaining a customer-focused approach
  • A valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation to reach job sites and client locations
