We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Counselor to join our team and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for campers. As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for leading and supervising children in different camp activities, such as sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures. You will also be expected to create a positive and inclusive environment for all campers and ensure that they are engaged and having fun.

Camp counselor responsibilities

• Lead and supervise campers during different activities, such as hiking, swimming, and team building games.
• Plan and organize age-appropriate activities that are fun, educational, and safely managed.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers by following camp rules, protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Provide support, guidance, and positive reinforcement to campers to encourage personal growth, teamwork, and respectful behavior.
• Communicate with parents or guardians about their child's progress and any concerns or questions they may have.
• Help to create a positive and inclusive environment by modeling appropriate behavior, valuing diversity, and promoting respect for others.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and general camp activities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, experience working with children preferred
• Enthusiasm for outdoor activities and an eagerness to engage campers in a variety of games and sports
• Ability to work well as part of a team, communicate effectively, and build positive relationships with colleagues and campers
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges and change
• Willingness to learn and follow camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Ability and willingness to submit to a background check and health screening as a condition of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus

Note: This is a seasonal position, with hours based on specific camp schedules. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm for varying activities and duties.
