Job Brief

We are looking for a service-focused and knowledgeable Chef De Partie to join our team! Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a specialty kitchen section and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The focus of the role is to work directly under the sous chef to prepare food for cooking.

Responsibilities

  • Take orders from the sous chef on what specialty is being worked on for dinner/lunch service.
  • Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including peeling, chopping, cutting, and grating ingredients as needed.
  • Assist with the cooking of food when required.
  • Use various kitchen tools such as knives, peelers, mallets, and ovens/hobs to prepare food.
  • Keep the kitchen and work area in a clean and sanitary condition, following food safety guidelines.
  • Keep on top of orders and food prep, ensuring seamless meal delivery to the diners.
  • Assist with the washing of utensils, and cleaning of surfaces, floors, etc.
  • Ensure leftover food is properly stored and dated in the correct area.
  • Follow food hygiene and safety guidelines at all times.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or above
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Food badge/certification for your district
  • Strong knowledge of Food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Ability to communicate with customers and other staff members
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, hotplates, cookers, etc
  • Physically able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Willing to work late or unsociable hours
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
