Job brief

We are seeking a Chief Editor for our publishing house. Chief Editors need to be experienced and capable of overseeing an entire publishing process.

Responsibilities

• Direct choir members in warm-ups prior to practices and performances.
• Choose individual choir members to perform solo pieces.
• Decide on appropriate musical pieces for the choir to perform depending on the occasion and setting.
• Create and enforce a dress code for performances in tandem with guidelines.
• Lead auditions to identify and pick out potentially suitable choir members.
• Provide necessary guidance and direction during choir rehearsals to help choir members in attaining the correct tone, rhythm, pitch, tempo, and harmony.
• Govern choir members during musical performances to ensure the desired score is achieved.
• Schedule choir rehearsals and ensure that choir members attend them.
• Craft appropriate choir formations for rehearsals and performances.
• Selects music to meet the needs of the performance while also taking into account the group's aptitude and abilities.
• Make plans for tours and shows, including transportation and lodging.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field is preferred
• 3+ years of directing choirs
• Can interpret various styles of music
• In-depth music knowledge
• Bold leadership and listening capabilities
• Strong communicator
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Patient, passionate, creative, and assertive
