Computer Network Architects Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computer Network Architect who will be responsible for designing and implementing computer network systems that meet the specific needs of our organization.

The ideal candidate will work closely with other IT professionals to gather requirements, identify potential areas of improvement and find solutions to network related problems. If you have a strong background in IT and are passionate about designing and developing innovative solutions, then you may be an ideal candidate for this role.

Computer Network Architects Responsibilities

• Design and configure secure and stable computer networks based on business needs.
• Develop network solutions that increase efficiency and improve communication among team members.
• Plan and carry out network upgrades and migrations to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to create and maintain network topologies, IP and VLAN schemes, and firewall configurations.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues that arise and provide timely resolutions.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to other network engineers in order to maintain the network knowledge base and skill set.
• Research new technologies and tools to improve network performance and identify areas for potential optimization.
• Monitor network performance and capacity to ensure that the network is running optimally and proactively manage/rectify any issues detected.
• Develop and maintain documentation, such as user manuals and hardware and software inventory, in order to communicate network architecture to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Previous experience as a network administrator, network engineer, or a similar role, with at least 5 years experience
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, network security, and relevant protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SNMP etc.)
• Excellent problem solving skills with a keen ability to identify and resolve complex network issues
• Experience designing and implementing large systems with multiple servers and network devices
• Hands-on experience with configuring firewalls, routers and switches as well as working with different OS like Linux, Windows, Unix etc
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, combined with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
• Adept at handling complex information and presenting it in a simple, understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Currently holds relevant industry certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or CCNP
• A strong commitment in keeping up with emerging technologies so as to bring value to the company and its clientele
