Job brief

We seek a well-presented, passionate, and customer-focused Event Host to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be experienced with the coordination and hosting of events and understand the attendee’s expectations. The Event Host will ensure that all events run smoothly, that guests are taken care of and that the best possible customer care quality is maintained throughout the event.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the events planning and coordination team to understand the event's schedule and the type of guests attending.
  • Meet and greet attendees.
  • Create guest lists and check guests in on arrival.
  • Obtain any required information from attendees.
  • Assist with the setup of the event, including placing signage, ensuring clearly marked exit and entry points, and ensuring the guests can find their way around the event easily.
  • Assist with the distribution of refreshments and marketing materials such as flyers and informative newsletters.
  • Assist with the event clean-up including removing signage and flyers and assisting with the general clean-up after guests have left.
  • Positively represent the company at all times.
  • Engage with attendees and provide the information they request or general assistance where required.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve a successful event overall.
  • Communicate any problems or feedback from guests to the event managers and coordinators as required.
  • Pay attention to detail and suggest how future events or processes can be improved.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in events management, marketing, or other related hospitality field, or 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Professional, presentable, and well-groomed for each event
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Confident to communicate with various people from different backgrounds
  • Great attention to detail
  • Confident in answering questions
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to delegate where required
  • Good understanding of food and beverage hygiene
