Food Runner job description

Job brief

We are looking for a competent Food Runner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of food orders to customers. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to maintain a helpful and friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food orders are delivered to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Liaise with the kitchen and servers to ensure food quality and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in preparing food orders and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude towards customers.
• Follow all standardized procedures for Food Running and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Provide support to other members of staff when needed.
• Stocking supplies and keeping inventory levels up-to-date.
• Responding to customers’ inquiries and any food-order complaints.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working as a Food Runner in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Physical ability to carry heavy trays, stand and walk for long periods of time, and perform tasks that may require lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Professional and friendly attitude, with a focus on providing excellent customer service
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
