Food Service Worker job description

Job brief

We are looking for an efficient and customer service-oriented Food Service Worker to assist in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of food at our establishment. The successful candidate will have a passion for food and a dedication to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items according to set standards and recipes.
• Ensure that food is served at the correct temperature and quality.
• Set-up and stock various food stations and maintain their cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Assist in the daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes, and supplies.
• Operate cash registers and accept payments from customers.
• Maintain a polite and professional demeanor with all customers and staff.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Attend training sessions as required and continually work to improve skills and knowledge of food service operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Food Service Worker or similar role in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills and computer literacy
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions
• High school diploma or equivalent required, culinary education or food handling certification is preferred
