Job brief

We are looking for a highly-skilled General Counsel to provide legal guidance and support to our company in all matters that may arise. The successful candidate will ensure our company operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. As General Counsel, you will be responsible for protecting the company’s legal interests while minimizing risk and managing and reviewing all legal agreements and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal guidance and support to senior management on strategic projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and litigation matters.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Advise the company on compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy, intellectual property rights, and employment law.
  • Manage external legal counsel when necessary to provide effective and efficient legal solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and analyses on specific issues and provide recommendations.
  • Provide training to team members on legal matters and best practices.
  • Ensure the appropriate legal documentation is completed and filed in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s)
  • At least 10 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house, with a focus on corporate law, contracts, and litigation
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with an ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A proven ability to manage complex legal projects and work collaboratively with senior management
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • A deep understanding of the business and legal implications of decisions
  • Ability to balance the long-term interests of the business with legal and regulatory requirements
