Housekeeper job description

Job brief

We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented and self-driven Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in housekeeping and be proactive in ensuring that all cleaning work is kept to a high standard as expected by guests. The housekeeper will provide reliable, friendly housekeeping services where required and take pride in the finished result, ensuring the company's high standards are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Housekeeping/Cleaning Manager to obtain the daily requirements.
• Plan and effectively manage each job to ensure maximum efficiency is reached, and the schedule is adhered to.
• Ensure all wooden furniture, metal, and glass fixtures are clean; vacuum and/or sweep all hard floors and ensure they are mopped with appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Ensure windows are thoroughly cleaned from the inside.
• Ensure bathrooms are cleaned with the correct cleaning products.
• Ensure that all bins are emptied.
• Replace dirty sheets with clean ones where required, ensuring the beds are made to company standard.
• Ensure any refreshments are replenished in line with company policy.
• Adhere to any health protocols such as sanitizing high traffic touch areas.

Requirements

• High School GED
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a commercial or private housekeeping role
• Good knowledge of cleaning products and their appropriate uses
• Ability to effectively follow a set schedule and work with a pace as laid out by the business
• Great communication skills
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Able to work as part of a team to achieve a common goal while being able to work without supervision when required
• Able to lift up to 15 LBS at any given time
• Good knowledge of hygiene procedures
• Health and Safety in the workplace certification would be an advantage
