LPN job brief
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and organized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. The LPN should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and physicians.
LPN responsibilities
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians or healthcare providers.
- Monitor and report changes in patient's vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, monitoring and tracking recovery progress, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Follow healthcare policies, regulations, and safety protocols in all aspects of patient care.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide training and education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions and treatments.
- Support administrative staff by ensuring timely and accurate documentation of patient's progress and follow-up appointments.
- Educate new staff members on healthcare policies, regulations, and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed practical nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated ability to perform clinical procedures, administer medication, and accurately document patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work long hours, stand for extended periods, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of healthcare practices and processes and willingness to continue learning and growing in the field
- A high level of attention to detail, time management, and organization skills
- Good computer skills for entry and retrieval of data related to patient care and documentation
- Must be able to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and patience while caring for patients and their families
