Network Engineer Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.

Network Engineer Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex network solutions that meet the business requirements of our clients.
• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and virtual private networks (VPNs).
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, both proactively and reactively.
• Monitor network performance and analyze network traffic, utilizing network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, to ensure timely resolution of network-related issues.
• Maintain network security through the implementation of various security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all network-related processes, architectures, and solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network incidents and issues outside of business hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience working in network engineering or a related field
• Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and BGP
• Proficient in the configuration and maintenance of Cisco, Juniper, and HP network equipment
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG
• Solid understanding of network security principles, including access control, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIA are a plus
