Night Auditor Job Description

Job Brief 

We are seeking a Night Auditor to join our hospitality team. The Night Auditor will be responsible for auditing, posting, and balancing daily revenue and expenses, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. 

The ideal candidate will have previous accounting or auditing experience, be detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Audit and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
• Verify the accuracy of daily revenue and expenses, including room charges, cash, credit card, and check transactions.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports, including revenue summaries, occupancy reports, and guest folios.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
• Update and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations, including those related to guest privacy and financial reporting.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and respond to any inquiries or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Act as a liaison between the front desk and other departments, including housekeeping and maintenance.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, including the front desk and guest services tasks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with some college-level accounting or business courses, preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or hospitality
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Familiarity with hospitality or property management software, such as Opera or Fidelio
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software
• Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends
• Experience in a hotel or other hospitality environment is a plus
