Pediatric Nurse job description

Job brief

We are seeking an experienced and professional Paediatric Nurse to join our team! The ideal candidate should demonstrate previous experience in providing care to children in a hospital setting. The role's key focus is to provide high-quality care to children with varying illnesses or conditions and support to their families.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the condition of patients under your charge, recognize changes in patient condition, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Conform to all regulatory guidelines, ensure cooperation with the facility’s policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with the hospital's standards of practice and ethics.
• Ensure children’s families are kept up to date with new treatments or progress they have made during treatment.
• Use the medical equipment to monitor patients’ conditions and update their charts accordingly.
• Create care plans for patients.
• Work in line with patient confidentiality and safeguarding guidelines.
• Record nursing notes, chart admission, and discharge dates, and participate in unit staffing, code rounds, and morbidity and mortality conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Nursing
• Relevant and up-to-date Nursing License as required by the country/state you reside in
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a hands-on nurse
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to build strong patient and co-worker relationships
• Proficient with the use of all medical equipment
• Demonstrated knowledge of infection control procedures
• Strong understanding of patient confidentiality guidelines
