We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our sales floor team. As a Sales Floor Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets in a fast-paced retail environment.

The Sales Floor Associate will work closely with the sales team to ensure the overall success of the sales floor. You will be responsible for greeting and assisting customers, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, processing sales transactions, and achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

The sales floor job description commonly consists of the following duties, tasks, and responsibilities in most retail stores where they work :

  • Carry out daily tours of areas of responsibility at the store and ensure the visual appearance of the department.
  • Make eye contact and greet all customers within 10 feet with a smile; take customers to merchandise; and render assistance in solving customer complaints, needs, or issues.
  • Ensure the maintenance of promotional Ads and programs, and that they are signed and replaced for the whole Ad or event.
  • Know the layout of the store so you can direct or take customers to that area.
  • Be able to explain the differences between products, answer questions about them and be on top of current promotions and discounts.

Requirements

The job requirements for a sales floor may vary depending on the company but generally, they are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proven sales experience in a retail environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and principles
