Teacher Assistant job description

Job Brief

We are looking for a highly motivated Teacher Assistant to join our team of educators in providing the best learning experience for our students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young people, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to provide support in the classroom. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the teacher to ensure the smooth running of the classroom and provide individualized attention to students.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.
• Help to create a safe and positive classroom environment for students.
• Provide guidance and support to students during lessons and classroom activities.
• Assist in maintaining classroom and student records.
• Observe and record student behavior and progress.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials and equipment.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
• Help to identify and address the needs of individual students.
• Provide support during extracurricular activities or events as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with children (preferably in a classroom setting)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Knowledge of relevant technology and software (e.g. Microsoft Office, educational software) is desirable
• Willingness to undergo background checks as required
