Forwarding a raw candidate resume directly to a client can sometimes be a liability for recruitment agencies. Messy formatting, inconsistency in information fields, and other issues directly impact your recruitment branding and also expose the candidate's direct contact details before an agreement is secured.
Manatal’s Custom Resumes feature allows you to build tailored, branded, and anonymized candidate profiles directly within your platform. Instead of manually reformatting Word documents for every submission, you can set up centralized templates and generate client-ready PDFs in a few clicks using your existing candidate data.
In this article, we will show you how to configure and use the custom resume builder to standardize your candidate presentations.
Your Agency, Your Resume Templates
Agencies often require different resume formats for different clients or internal business units. To support this, administrators can create an unlimited number of custom templates within the account. When building a template, the interface displays your configuration settings on the left and a real-time visual preview on the right.
You can standardize the global design of the document to match your agency's branding:
- Style Settings: Define the primary accent color, select the universal font, and set a standard date format for the entire document.
- Headers and Footers: Add your organization's name, website, and contact details to the header or footer.
- Document Protection: Apply your company logo or a custom image as a watermark across the background of the resume.
Multilingual AI Data Mapping
Manatal's AI resume parsing can collect and map field data accurately in multiple languages. When you build a resume template, it automatically inserts the data directly from these fields. This results in maximum accuracy and saved time, completely removing the need for manual data entry.
You Control What to include
Once the visual branding is set, you determine exactly what information populates into the resume. The template editor allows you to control the data hierarchy without needing external design software.
- Reorder and toggle sections: You can hide entire sections, such as education or skills, if they are not relevant to your presentation standard. You can also drag and drop active sections to change their display order.
- Incorporate Custom Fields: This is critical for agencies that want to present internal data alongside the candidate's history. You can embed custom fields into the template to automatically pull in your recruiter's interview feedback or other candidate data.
- Anonymize profiles: You can toggle off the candidate's photo and remove direct contact details, ensuring the client evaluates the profile objectively and communicates exclusively through your agency.
Step 3: Generate and edit individual resumes
With your templates configured by an admin, your recruiting team can generate formatted resumes directly from any candidate profile.
Once you have a candidate in your Manatal account, just navigate to the resume tab in their profile, and you will see an option to create a new custom resume. Once you've selected your desired template, you can choose how the system pulls the data:
- Auto-Populate from Manatal Summary: The system fills the template using the structured data already parsed into the candidate's profile.
- Auto-Populate from Original Resume: The system extracts the text directly from the candidate's uploaded resume file.
- Blank Manual Input: The template loads completely empty, requiring you to type in the necessary information manually.
Before you finalize the document, you have the opportunity to make candidate-specific adjustments. If a candidate has a short-term contract role that clutters their work history, you can simply hide that specific experience entry from this version of the resume.
That’s it, Your Candidate Pitch is Ready!
Once the data is accurate and formatted correctly, save the custom resume. It will be stored directly on the candidate's profile for future access. From there, you can export the file as a PDF to attach to your client presentation emails.
